About the Company

Our client is an established precision manufacturer with decades of experience producing metal components and assemblies for a range of industries, including medical, defense, and aerospace. Family owned and managed, they partner closely with customers from early prototyping through full-volume production, and are known for taking on complex, precision-driven work that requires real technical expertise.

This is a great opportunity to take the lead of a maintenance department at a well-established, mission-driven precision manufacturer - training apprentices, driving equipment reliability, and shaping how the team operates.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the team: Supervise Maintenance Technicians, delegate work, and train apprentices
  • Own machine maintenance: Oversee repair, rebuilding, and installation across the facility
  • Manage the workflow: Run the Manager Plus system for work requests/orders and keep asset files current
  • Troubleshoot & repair: Diagnose mechanical issues, dismantle/reassemble equipment, and design, build, and grind machine parts as needed
  • Keep parts stocked: Maintain inventory and purchase repair/spare parts
  • Build small equipment for new design needs
  • Champion safety: Enforce Lockout/Tagout and rigging protocols

Qualifications:

  • Tool Maker or Machinist certification, with 5+ years running a maintenance department
  • A self-starter with strong reasoning, sound judgment, and high energy
  • A collaborative, team-first leadership style — decisive, credible, and organized
  • Computer literacy and the ability to instruct others
  • Physical ability to read prints/inspect parts closely, work with manual dexterity, stoop/bend frequently, and lift up to 35 lbs unassisted
  • Reliable attendance as an essential function of the role
